nomen suavissimi apud Sinenses fructûs, qui in variis eius Imperii provinciis, magnâ copiâ crescens, circa Hinghoa censetur optimus, et per dispositos hoc fine cursores in Regiam mittitur adhuc recens. Nascitur in magnis procerisque arboribus, quarum folia lauri imitantur, e ramorum summitatib. racemi prodeunt, in quibus ut in uvis fructus est sed rarior ac longioribus pedunculis dependent: fructûs figura omnino corculum refert, magnitudine nucem aequat iuglandem. parvum strobulum s. nucem pineam repraesentans, squamoso sed non adeo crasso cortice; quippe qui ad membranae tantum crassitiem accedens, vel solâ manu facile detrahitur. Intus succulentus est nucleus, albi coloris, saporis ac odoris rosacei suavissimi. Cum maturuit fructus, purpurei est coloris, videnturqueve ipsae arbores purpureis circumquaqueve quasi cordibus ornatae, amoenissimo aspectu astantium oculis arridere. Os s. calculum caro intus ambit ac circumdat, qui, quo mole minor est, eo censetur fructus mollior ac praestantior. Regem fructuum merito dixeris, qui, quasi esui et spectantium voluptati natus tantum esset, ita delectat, ut numquam satiet: Nucleo, ad instar tragematis cuiusdam rosacei congelati, ut vulgo vocant, liquescentein ore.
